5 ways to spread kindness

Being conscious of the small ways we can spread kindness every day can add up to make the biggest impact. Here are 5 ways I think we can spread kindness moment to moment, day to day & week to week!

 

SAY HELLO

Just say hi! Saying hello can make someone feel valued. It conveys that you noticed someone and they feel seen in that moment. Just taking the time to make the effort can go a long way.

LISTEN

I think most times in life listening is even more beneficial than talking. There is something special about giving someone your undivided attention when they are talking to you. Deep down we all want to feel seen, heard and valued and if you have the ability to give that to someone by listening, why wouldn’t you?

BE PRESENT

Simply being aware of the current moment you are in and fully seizing it can spread kindness to others. By being present we are actively participating in life and taking in the moments around us. The intricacies of life often happen in the small moments that we just might miss if we aren’t present.

MAKE SOMEONE KNOW THEY ARE APPRECIATED

When you realize how much you appreciate someone, you should tell them. Life is too short to hold back good things about good people. You never know what tomorrow brings so you should say something if you believe it to be true about someone. It will probably make them smile and we all need some more of those! 🙂

BE INCLUSIVE

This one might be the hardest because it requires a little more active perspective shifting, but it is my favorite and the most important to me! It may be most comfortable to remain with the people you know and are friends with in group settings or just life, we all fall into this. Challenge yourself to look outside of your normal circle and to the people that seem to not have a circle of their own. Be intentional to include others because we all know what it feels like to be left out. If you have the ability to show someone that they matter, have value and have a place, even for a second, it is invaluable!
